The pomegranate fruit has been used for thousands of years as medicine as it contains more than 100 phytochemicals. Fresh juice doesn’t have to be green or full of spinach to be healthy. Pomegranate juice is being studied for its many health benefits. Below are some of the potential benefits of pomegranates.

Pomegranate juice contains higher levels of antioxidants than most other fruit juices. It also has 3 times more antioxidants than red wine and green tea. The antioxidants in pomegranate juice can help remove free radicals, protect cells from damage, and reduce inflammation. 

Pomegranate seeds get their vibrant red hue from polyphenols which are the powerful antioxidants.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C can be broken down when pasteurized, so opt for fresh pomegranate juice to get the most of the nutrient. The juice of a single pomegranate has more than 40% of your daily requirement of vitamin C.

Alzheimer’s Disease Protection

Pomegranates are believed to stall the progress of Alzheimer disease and protect memory. This is because it contains a high level of antioxidants in the juice.

Pomegranate juice can reduce inflammation in the gut and improve digestion. It may be beneficial for people with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and other inflammatory bowel diseases. But remember to avoid pomegranates juice when you are having diarrhoea because it may worsen it.
